To Veterans and their Families:We recognize that returning to civilian life can be difficult. After being exposed to the stress of deployment and combat, it is hard to come home and reconnect with family and friends who may not understand your experience. Are you having a hard time finding work or readjusting to your former work? Are you having trouble sleeping? Are you experiencing anxiety in situations that used to feel comfortable? You may be feeling unexpected anger, or find that you are depressed at times and in ways that did not occur before. It may be hard to relate to your spouse, significant other, or to your children. Are there other emotions occurring that are new and unexpected for you? These are all normal reactions to the stress of readjustment. If you find yourself dealing with any of these problems, we are available to help you and your family resolve them. Mission StatementReturning Veterans Resource Project NW is a nonprofit organization comprised of politically unaffiliated and independent health care practitioners who offer free and confidential* services to veterans and their families of past and current Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns. Our volunteers include mental health professionals, acupuncturists and other allied health care providers. We believe it is our collective responsibility to offer education, support, and healing for the short and long-term repercussions of military combat on veterans and their families. Vision of the Returning Veterans Resource Project NWTo create a web of community resources for the returning veterans, we envision:
* Confidentiality: We are profoundly committed to confidentiality. For further information, please click here, or on the confidentiality link to the left.
